Wednesday in Uganda

From Debbie Baker:

Only 6 of us remain to finish the work, along with a few our our wonderful Ugandan friends. We had another amazing day here in Uganda. We painted house 7 this morning after our morning devotion and worked until 4pm.  We all went on an adventure to visit Kalasi. For those of you who don’t know he is, Kalasi is a young man, around nineteen years old that our team rescued when they were here in January. Upon visiting a home in the village while evangelizing, our group discovered him. He was literally days from death. His skin was falling from his body, he was unable to stand or walk on his own being severely malnourished and literally starving. He is now living with his Auntie and other family members. Today we witnessed God’s miraculous healing on this young man’s life. He now has a sponsor from the USA and is thriving. Even though he faces physical and mental disabilities, he has made TREMENDOUS progress through God’s grace!! Praise the Lord. We were truly moved to see him, and he was so happy to see us. We fed him cookies and juice along with the other children in the family. He even wanted to leave with us! We then were blessed to meet Julius’s family. Julius, is an accountant for the Compassion Project 143, here at the ACV. He has been instrumental in Kalasi’s progress as well as to the children here in the village. On our way home we stopped by the “Market Place.” This is where much of the produce is purchased for us and the village. This is an open air market with many vendors. It was quite an experience shopping in the dark. The vendors had candles on their booths as there was no electricity. We will be emailing Chelsie pictures to add to the blog. Thank you to our friends, families, and church families for your prayers. Please continue to pray for the team and all that we need to accomplish, for with God, all things are possible.
