Friday in Uganda

From Debbie Baker:

Wow, what an amazing God we serve. I don’t even know where to begin. First of all, we finished Pastor Tom’s house, which completed our painting project. Praise God!! After lunch, we went back out into the community to continue our outreach. We delivered food boxes containing flour, sugar, salt, beans, rice, g nuts and soap. To see the looks on those people’s face was indescribable. These families didn’t know where their next meal was coming from, but to share with them what our Lord had supplied for them was amazing! We got to deliver Bibles to some people that we were re-visiting, and some that we were visiting for the first time. We called on a child with diabetes, which is a very rare disease here in Uganda, especially in a child. She previously suffered from convulsions and other serious medical conditions. In conjunction with Compassion we are considering purchasing chickens for their family to provide income and food. This would be a life sustaining project for them. We provided an emergency supply of insulin, and Mark, being a diabetic himself was able to consult with the mother regarding diet and emergency procedures. Last week we learned of a baby whose mother had died during child birth. The infant is being raised by her jaja and has had nothing but flour and water to eat since birth. Our team was able to provide her with formula, clothes and toys. These are just two of the miracles we witnessed today. Praise God for all that was delivered. We will continue our outreach on Monday.  All these supplies, or the money needed to purchase them, were donated from many generous donors. What a big, big God we serve. Thank you to all of you!
